I woke up during the night and my husband was awake. I often will wake up throughout the night, but my husband sleeps soundly all night long, last night, he was awake til 3 am. He just could not sleep, and so he spent a lot of time in bed praying, thinking, tossing and turning. When I woke up, the first thing that came to mind was that I needed to write down all the gifts I've been given from God, my likes, my loves, my favorites. I wanted to remember and focus on the beauty of my life and the many things that I like about it. This morning when I opened my little devotional to read today's page I was blessed with this one liner: "Do not reject any of my gifts; find Me in every situation." The Bible verse at the bottom of the page is Colossians 2:6-7 "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
So, I envisioned a like button on my son's tousled hair as he wandered into the kitchen this morning. And, I kissed his cheeks. I envisioned a like button pretty much everywhere as I looked all over my home, the chair I sit in every morning, my books I read. MY BIBLE, and my journal. A big like button on the window that gives me a view to the hill outside, and a like button on all the sounds around me. I've pasted one on the air I breathe, the health I've been given, life itself. I've glued one to the support system God has placed in our life, and know what a blessing they are. I've splattered them all around my family so they are covered in Like Buttons, and I am thanking God for the blessing of their love and devotion to me. My like button list could go on and will for a pretty long time, this is just the beginning. God has opened the heavens to me with many gifts, He has showered me with millions of like buttons to distribute throughout my time here on this earth. I don't think it would be wise to reject any of them!
So, Jesus, Say That Again today. You have given me many gifts, I will live deeply rooted IN You, be thankful, and cover my gifts with Like Buttons!
